BRAND SPOTLIGHT: AMERICAN BAKED

Edibles can get a bit redundant. How many weak pot brownies and gnarly tasting gummies can one person eat before they are begging for something more interesting? Infused treats have been around for centuries and consumer edibles have been a big part of the stoner lifestyle since the beginning of the medical market. So it’s almost baffling that so many edibles are mediocre, hastily made or just plain ol’ boring. Enter American Baked, a cannabis consumable company focused on making innovative products that the consumer actually enjoys eating.

First is their line of cookie doughs. We currently offer three of these “raw” doughs: Classic Chocolate Chip, Triple Chocolate Malted, and Vegan Peanut Butter. These are shelf-stable cookie doughs so you don’t have to worry about the usual risks of uncooked conventional dough. But should you wish to turn these into actual cookies, you can chill the dough thoroughly, then bake at 350 F for 7 to 9 minutes. Honestly though, you won’t have the patience for preheating with how good these are straight out of the bag. If you are looking for some fun ways to incorporate them into other desserts, we recommend blending them into a milkshake or making them into a sort of infused cake pop.

The other options that we have from American Baked are their already baked cookies. The first of the two selections we carry are the Thick Mints (though we prefer to pronounce them in a low, husky tone with as many C’s as possible to convey their thiccc-ness). These are exactly as advertised, a thicker version of thin mints. And if you thought thin mints were perfect because of their thinness, you would be surprised to find that a thicker thin mint is everything you ever wanted. More chocolate, same amount of mint.

Then there are the Toffee Almond Crunch Cookies. These crispy little morsels are covered in almonds and toffee bits and will have you pouring out the crumbs from each opened package down to your waiting mouth below. There is the perfect level of saltiness to complement the toffee and to help accentuate the dark chocolate wafer cookie beneath. Should you want to find a more complicated use for these cookies than just inevitably eating them in rapid succession, the Thick Mints are great for small ice cream sandwiches and the Toffee Almond Crunches are great for crumbling up for a dessert topping. And, either of these cookies would also be great to use as a crust for a cheesecake or pie.
