Nug of the Week: Old School Lemons

Our nug of the week goes out to all the old head smokers out there - the ones who are looking for those strains that they remember smoking before legal weed was even a consideration. That's the feeling I get when I smoke Old School Lemons - nostalgia. One of my coworkers who tried out the strain even saw "This reminds me of that illegal Cali weed I used to buy." This sativa-hybrid hits all the right marks for me:

  • The cure is perfect, so the citrusy nose on the nugs fills the air as soon as you crack the smell seal.

  • The high is I get is a happy, energetic, and alert high that sativa are known for, but without the overactive, buzzy, paranoia that usually pushes me towards indica strains in my day to day smoking routine.

  • The price to quality ratio is astounding - for $35, I can get an eighth of top shelf quality flower without the top shelf markup.

And that's the thing that sticks out to me the most about this strain - I don't get my usual sativa headaches a couple hours after smoking. I can be social and energetic all the way through the high and not have to pop two Tylenol at the end of the day. In honor of this unicorn of a sativa strain, here is a list of activities happening around Washington that would pair perfectly with some Old School Lemons. Make sure you stop by one of our three locations (Cap Hill, Georgetown, Bremerton) to pick this strain up, and then head over to one of these events to have a good time!

4/16/2022 Earth Day @ Fenster Nature Park - Auburn, WA

Come celebrate Earth Day by volunteering to help restore the shores of the Green River! Join Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group, Green River Coalition, and the City of Auburn to spread mulch, remove non-native invasive species, and plant native trees and shrubs at Fenster Nature Park, in Auburn from 10 am-1 pm. Spreading mulch helps maintain moisture around native plants and reduces the opportunity for invasive plants to regrow. Native trees help shade the river for cooler water for salmon, provide fresh clean air, and beautify our parks! Be a part of your community, give back, and meet new people.

Rocky Horror Picture Show - A Live Performance - Bremerton, WA

A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through to the early 1960s, the musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad trans scientist, Dr Frank-N-Furter, unveiling his new creation, a sort of Frankenstein-style monster in the form of an artificially made, fully grown, physically perfect muscle man named Rocky, complete "with blond hair and a tan." Come down to Tracyton Movie House to watch the cult classic!
